DENCEPENCE “TOOK A BUTT” AT OLYMPIC’S OPENING

Well it was bound to happen our dear fumble bumble Vice President DencePence in protest at the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea “took a butt” rather than a knee to protest. And HE’S a very white guy!

And really after all that sturm and drang about the NLF players with that knee thing and here is DencePence “taking a butt” to protest at a sports event.

And sure, it takes an ass to “take a butt”. No question!

Wouldn’t it be just great if some South Korean Olympic owner would stand up and say, “you are fired you son of a bitch”!

But that won’t happen because Koreans are a polite people and a public outburst of that nature would ONLY be acted out by a “round-eyed barbarian”. Proper decorum is still practiced in Asia.

You see at the opening of the Olympic Games both the South and North Koreans entered the proceedings together. You know, as Koreans.

But for DencePence that was NOT ACCEPTABLE because he represents a two Korean world. And HE’S a very white guy!

So in PROTEST he “took a butt” and didn’t stand as others did out of respect for the teams.

“At the opening ceremonies on Friday, Pence sat stone-faced in his seat as Moon and North Korean officials stood together with much of the stadium to applaud their joint team of athletes. White House officials stressed that Pence had applauded only for the American team, but Asia experts said the vice president’s refusal to stand could be seen as disrespectful to the hosts.” (By ZEKE MILLER and MATTHEW PENNINGTON | Sat, February 10, 2018)

Now DencePence has been spending his time warning everyone that North Korea was attempting to, “hijack the message and imagery of the Olympic Games” and to promote dialogue between the North and South.

This dialogue, is “propaganda” from DencePense’s point of view. And we sure can’t have that, now can we?

And who is this WE?

Koreans or Americans.

SAME AMERICAN BULLSHIT, DIFFERENT DAY!

There is diplomacy, decorum and respect for your position and those you represent and then there is third grade play yard behavior.

For DencePence and “mother” they are just embarrassing to the United States of America on the World Stage. And it is cringe worthy!

There's irony there! He will have solved the problem. Not in the way he hoped but, hey, solving is solving.
Pence insulted both of them and it is now inevitable that they will take action. Honour is at stake!

We shouldn't provoke Pyongyang during the Olympics.  I understand South Koreans are dreaming of a reunited Korea and we should respect it, but North Korea seeks to threaten its neighbors with nuclear arms.  That's why it's up to Beijing to take action solely or jointly with America to turn the dream into a reality for all of us!
Even A Broken Clock Added Feb 13, 2018 - 6:49pm
Tube, your post is totally tubular. As we fire up the halfpipe of the Olympic celebration, let us remember that the renaissance of the Olympics was to encourage international cooperation, not to exacerbate existing conflicts. Therefore, an active attempt to not encourage cooperation would be found to be in contempt of the Olympic ideal, and the US is therefore fined:

2 gold medals
4 Silver medals
5 bronze medals

And is prohibited from making snide comments about the spirit of international competition until the end of these festivities.

Pence was petty and stupid.  You dont have to agree with someone on everything to show some respect.   I have been to Catholic Churches with friends before, I am not a Catholic and the differences I have with that Church could fill a volume.  But I went  there, and by being in their place of worship I agreed to show some respect, as I did  when I visited Mosque.

Just because you disagree with someone, you dont have to wear your asshole on your sleeve.

How far does Pence think we will get negotiating with the North Koreans if we cant treat them with respect?  they are supposed to trust us when we shit in their hat?
Tubularsock Added Feb 14, 2018 - 12:01pm
Bill, well said and Tubularsock couldn't agree more. Tubularsock is not a big fan of North Korea but if the idea is to talk with them then being rude to them doesn't seem to be a bright idea. And at the same time being rude to South Korea as well. Rather embarrassing.

However, if our goal is to CREATE a conflict then it is right on target.

We have to remember that North Korea is on the same neocon list as Iran and Iraq and "our" proposed goal is destruction.

Seems Americans have forgot American Propaganda repetitively warned Americans about 'terrorist' attacks at the 2014 Russian Olympic Games in Sochi to frighten Americans from attending and it worked to a large degree.

There were no terrorist attacks, and many Athletes said they were the best organized games ever. That American Propaganda effort was to sabotage Putin's Olympic games because he is such a sports fan.

My friend's son plays hockey for the Russian KHL in Sochi, and he and his wife love the place. He was made Captain of the team even though he doesn't speak Russian. He is now on CanaDa's Olympic Hockey Team competing in Korea.

Because you are not from North America, you are probably getting the full background that makes up this story.

"Taking a knee" is a common football position when the coach is addressing his players or when another player is hurt. It is regarded as a sign of respect in this sport. This position involves an upright position, but with one knee on the ground and the other leg in a right-angle position.

For the past six months, National Football League players in the USA have been protesting a systemic racism in the USA by "taking a knee" during the American national anthem. Traditionally, the players stand during the anthem. This break of tradition gets a lot of attention in the media. Supporters shows taking the knee shows a sign of respect for the country but the break in tradition shows some things need fixing. Detractors say the players in this protest are showing disrespect for the country that gave them the privilege of playing this sport for lots of money.

President Trump is a detractor of this protest. He wants the team owners to fire these players. So taking a knee during the anthem at a football game is "bad" according to the White House. It seems Mr. Pence is protesting in a similar way for an unrelated issue. He chose to remain sitting when the rest of the crowd gives a standing ovation for showing signs that the two Koreas are working things out. Tubularsock called this sit-down protest "Taking a butt"--a definite allusion to the football protest and the Trump paradox that such a protest is good here but bad there.

UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold was killed in a suspicious plane crash in 1961. He dared speak Truth to Power. His quote from over 60 years ago is so relevant to what is going on Today. It has spread like never before to affect the judgments of the Politicians, the news media, and the Public.

-The Assembly has witnessed over the last weeks how historical truth is established; once an allegation has been repeated a few times, it is no longer an allegation, it is an established fact, even if no evidence has been brought out in order to support it.

American propaganda is scapegoating Russia to absolve Americans of responsibility for creating their own political divisions.

Observing from CanaDa, this anti-Russia/Putin Propaganda is confirming this Vision of the Future published 41 years ago.

On September 13, 1976, the major daily THE KANSAS CITY TIMES published this Vision of the FUTURE: “He came to town for the Republican National Convention and will stay until the election in November TO DO GOD'S BIDDING: To tell the world, from Kansas City, this country has been found wanting and its days are numbered [...] He gestured toward a gleaming church dome. “The gold dome is the symbol of Babylon,” he said.” [...] He wanted to bring to the Public’s attention an “idea being put out subtly and deceptively” by the government that we have to get prepared for a war with Russia.”

I think I've asked before, but I'll ask again - What's with the name "Tubularsock"? Recently I saw a parody image of a cover of a Nancy Drew mystery seemingly made in the 1950's titled "The Secret of the Old Cum Sock", with a svelte Nancy hoisting a (apparently) semen-laden sock from a grass field, with a pair of tweezers, of course. When I went back to WB, I thought of you! lol

Pence was hypocritical. It's no good moaning about footballers not showing respect and then demonstrating rudeness. But he is only mimicking the rudeness that Trump displayed at his inauguration. Rudeness reflects on the person displaying it in my opinion.
In my job I had to entertain Tory politicians. I despise their politics but that did not prevent me from providing them with cordial receptions. Respect can be extended to those we disagree with.

If all the great minds ever got together to invent a new sport, they could not create a bigger mess than gridiron football. Only Americans and Canadians have some idea of what is going on in the field. And then there is the whole culture behind this sport with its idioms making their way into pop culture.

If I were a prejudiced person, I would say that Europeans are obviously inferior as they are incapable of grasping this sport.

We have no choice but to talk to the North Koreans. Even the dopes in our government know that.  They may not want to admit it publicly, but they know it.  We dont have to be churlish just because we dont like that NK is in the Olympics.

When two parties negotiate, and one has huge advantages over the other, the larger party should show generosity towards the smaller.  Otherwise the larger party risks looking like a bully, and the smaller will retreat to an extreme defensive position.

We are asking the North Koreans to give up their nuclear weapons, and trust that we wont invade them, or threaten them militarily in the future.  Being a bully, being petulant, is not the way to bring NK to the negotiating table with compromise in their intentions.

However you may be getting into rather deep water with your position about “European inferiority” about their knowledge of “football”.

In Europe, as you know, football is called soccer and it is literally played primarily with the feet while North American “football” is primarily a running and passing ball game.

So who is really confused here?

People playing “football” with their feet or people playing “football” by not using their feet?

As for football you make some very solid points (no pun intended, though Tubularsock will take what he can get) but Tubularsock would venture to say that if you add the time during a game that are used for kickoffs, punts, and extra points as for the time of hiking, passing, and running the latter would win hands down.

However that being said, for one who “loves” football such as yourself who wants to quibble over the small things, pass Tubularsock a beer .... rah!

The closest Tubularsock ever got to football was way, way back in high school when the head coach searched Tubularsock out and attempted to get Tubularsock to come out for his team as a quarterback. (Due to the fact that Tubularsock was a rather fast sprinter on the track team.)

Signs of starvation and death in North Korea indicate that US diplomatic strategy works fine, says the secretary of state. The objective now is not to let Pyongyang evoke sympathy around the world for its sanctions-induced woes.

The unexpectedly-revealing description of what Rex Tillerson apparently considers successful diplomacy came from his own mouth on Wednesday as he was speaking at Stanford University with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
“The Japanese… have had over a 100 North Korean fishing boats that have drifted into Japanese waters. Two-thirds of the people on those boats have died,” Tillerson said, citing the Japanese delegation that attended a conference in Vancouver, Canada, earlier this week.

Dying North Koreans a sign US diplomatic strategy works, Tillerson says
Bill Kamps Added Feb 16, 2018 - 9:05am
Ray, seems like a flawed strategy to me.  First the  NK leaders really dont care if their people starve, and second it seems that the more we strong arm NK, the less likely it will be that they give up their only defense against the USA.

They say they want nuclear weapons because they feel threatened by the USA.  So will threatening them more, get them to give them up?  Im not sure what kind reasoning this is.

If the neocons want a war there, they clearly havent thought it through.  Of course they didnt think it through with Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt and Libya.  Maybe at some point the American people will say "enough" but clearly we aren't there yet.  We just added another $150 billion to the "defense" budget, which really has nothing to do with defending the country.  We spend more on defense than the next ten countries combined, eight of which are allies of ours.  We spend 10x what the Russians spend.  Shoot Italy's defense budget is larger that Russia's.  Shouldnt  that be enough? how can we possibly argue that we dont spend enough?

Mr Sock, if you make it to be President I will happily serve as your Secretary of State, and serve at the pleasure of the President.

The 64 year Truce is evidence tiny, impoverished North Korea will not surrender to the Goliath of US Imperialism.
US Economic Warfare/Sanctions against NK has been in place in one form or another since 1953.

Mike Pence confirmed again that the administration’s idea of “talking” to North Korea doesn’t mean anything:

Vice President Mike Pence told Axios’ Mike Allen on Wednesday President Trump “always believes in talking [with North Korea], but talking is not negotiating.”
He said nothing will change with North Korea until they give up their pursuit of nuclear weapons [bold mine-DL]. He said they must “completely, verifiably, and completely abandon” its missile programs, and “only then can we consider any change in posture by the United States or the international community.”

The administration’s maximalism may feel satisfying, but it has no chance of reducing tensions or getting North Korea to agree to anything. The insistence that North Korea abandon these programs is as unrealistic as can be. It is not just that North Korea has already invested considerable resources in these programs and would be reluctant to dismantle everything they already have, but they also believe these programs to be essential to their security. Just as our government would not budge on something that it considered vitally important, theirs is not going to budge. More pressure and threats will just make them cling to these programs that much more tightly.

What is it that they want? .......... and Tubularsock knows that you both already know the answer.

Tubularsock must say Condo Rice should be in prison as a war criminal but instead she is in a University and people rant about a “liberal” agenda in the Universities?

Lock that fucking bitch up and throw away the key!

Thank you both for your comments.

Now Dave, if there is one thing Tubularsock can get behind is open corruption! And you are the man for the job.

Tubularsock has a short list for Secretaries Of ............ and Tubularsock will fill in the blanks as time permits. Don’t be too concerned.

All in all if things keep going in the direction that they are going Tubularsock will have less of a country left to be President of!

Hope that won’t cut into the salary and sick pay.

Thanks Dave and remember bit coin and cash ...... no records unless it’s an old 78 of Gypsy Rose Lee the musical!

@ Tube. Your graphic was so enlightening and contradicting of Trump's policy regarding sports players on their knees, that  I had to use it on my FB. I wonder if the kneelers were juxtaposed to Trump's guiding hands for his relief if he would be so hard on them. Of course, robust men know that when so juxtaposed, it is unwise to take a hardline on the  accommodating thespian.

Tubularsock: I don't use Russian Dressing either. Nor will I drink Vodka.

Carole, Tubularsock is glad that you have made your stand against Russian Dressing. Very patriotic if you ask Tubularsock.

However there is a very smooth Texan Vodka, Tito’s, that hasn’t seen a Russian. Tubularsock isn’t a big Vodka fan in truth.

Wild Turkey is Tubularsock favorite whiskey. Neat with no chaser. And hot Sake by the gallon is always good but cold Sake isn’t to
Tubularsock’s taste though it has become more popular today.

And of course a good hit off Tubularsock hash pipe and Carole you wouldn’t really care anymore. It is difficult to drink when you hovering at ceiling level.

Cheers.

No, Carole doesn't smoke anything.  I very seldom drink anything harder than Died Pepsi, but my choice is Jim Beam when I want to imbibe.

Carole, you may not be aware that the chemicals in diet Pepsi may be worse for you than Jim Beam.

And think about using Jim Beam on your breakfast cereal. It may just make the mornings go better. (a little health tip from Tubularsock)

LOL! Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll try it sometime.
